What fantastic news. One of the lowest quality newspapers collapses under the weight of its own filth. It added nothing to real news and instead peddled gossip and other pointless trivia.

With almost no rebuttal of the allegations it is safe to assume the paper almost certainly engaged in the interception of private messages. The victims weren't just cheating footballers they included dead children, the families of dead children and the families of dead soldiers. When they weren't hacking people's phones they were bribing corrupt police officers. No wonder the MET Police tried burying the investigation!

It did all this simply for profit.

The NOW liked to position itself as a friend to the armed forces yet it was one of the publications that sent them to their deaths in not one but two pointless wars. It never questioned the Government or its motives. It just swallowed the official story and churned out the propaganda.

It happily watched those soldiers go to war knowing that some of them were going to die, get maimed or come back mentally scarred for no real cause. Like most of the pro-war brigade it simply didn't give a shit. As long as it could keep printing pages to make money it didn't really care about the people behind the stories.

The News of The World was never really a newspaper.

It was just a stack of toilet paper without the perforations.

Good riddance to it. I hope its owners, and all its morally bankrupt journalists, burn in hell.

Now that it has gone it is time to take down the rest of the Murdoch empire. Boycott The Sun and The Times. It is unlikely the filth from the News of the World didn't rub off on them. They just haven't got caught yet.
